Thank you for your interest in joining the Colorectal Cancer Alliance's Never Too Young Taskforce for the 2025 calendar year. Young-Onset applies to anyone diagnosed under the age of 50 and Never Too Young aims to highlight the increasing rates of young-onset colorectal cancer.  As a member of this taskforce, you are committed to engaging in community events, fundraising, and advocacy initiatives to promote awareness of young-onset colorectal cancer. Bylaws

Membership


1. Eligibility

Individuals shall be appointed to the Never Too Young Taskforce or Alumni Leadership by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. In appointing members to the Never Too Young Taskforce, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance shall act in good faith and shall use its best efforts to achieve a composite Never Too Young. No individual member of the public or representative of any particular organization, community or group shall have an enforceable right to membership on the Never Too Young Taskforce.

2. Term

Subject to the provisions relating to the resignation and removal of a member, members of the Never Too Young Taskforce shall be appointed to a one-year term. The membership period for the Never Too Young Taskforce shall commence on the day bylaws are signed and end on the last day of the calendar year. Any person who has served more than one year of an unexpired term shall be deemed to have served a full term.


3.  Appointment

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance shall appoint members of the taskforce. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance shall designate the one-year term for Never Too Young Taskforce. 


4. Number of Terms

Each member of the Never Too Young Taskforce may serve as many terms non-consecutively as shall be determined by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, subject to the provisions of these Bylaws relating to resignation and removal of a member. 


5. Confidentiality

Members shall not discuss or disclose information about the Alliance or its activities to any person or entity unless such information is already a matter of public knowledge, such person or entity has a need to know, or the disclosure of such information is in furtherance of the Alliance’s purposes or can reasonably be expected to benefit the Alliance. Members shall use discretion and good judgment in discussing the affairs of the Alliance with third parties. Without limiting the foregoing, members may discuss upcoming fundraisers and the purposes and functions of the Alliance.


6. Resignation, Removal

(a) Any member may resign at any time from the Never Too Young Taskforce upon written notice to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. 

(b) Only the Colorectal Cancer Alliance has the power to remove a Never Too Young Taskforce member. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance may, in its absolute discretion, remove any member from office at any time during his or her term upon written notice to such member. The notice shall be effective when given in person or by telephone or email.


7. Compensation 

Unless the Colorectal Cancer Alliance so resolves, no member of the Never Too Young Taskforce shall receive compensation, or reimbursement for expenses incurred in serving on Never Too Young or any committee thereof.


8. Rights and Duties

The Never Too Young Taskforce activates on the issue of young-onset colorectal cancer. The Never Too Young Taskforce shall advise the Colorectal Cancer Alliance about the needs of young-onset patients, survivors, and their caregivers; shall assist in creating strategy to meet those needs; and assists in implementing strategy the Colorectal Cancer Alliance approves, when requested.


9. Limitation on Powers

The role of the Never Too Young Taskforce shall be solely advisory in nature. In no event shall Never Too Young Taskforce members have any authority to exercise any control over the daily management or operation of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, nor shall a Never Too Young Taskforce member thereof have the right to require or to seek a court or governmental agency to order, Colorectal Cancer Alliance or its Board of Directors, officers or employees to take or to refrain from taking any action with respect to programming, services, or policies. No member of the Never Too Young Taskforce shall be deemed to have the rights of a member of the Board of Directors.



Meetings
  1. Regular Meetings
    The Never Too Young Taskforce members shall hold at least 4 regular meetings annually, to be conducted virtually over Zoom. Additional meetings and/or trainings may be scheduled according to procedures established by Never Too Young and subject to approval by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. 
  2. Failure to Attend

    Failure to attend two successive meetings inclusive of subcommittee and Never Too Young quarterly meetings, without prior notice, may be considered cause for removal of a Never Too Young member.

  3. Notice of Meetings
    In most circumstances, notice of each meeting shall be given to each member, by email, not less than two weeks prior to the meeting. 
  4.  Fundraising
    Never Too Young members will be required to fundraise a minimum of two times while serving on the N2Y.  
Bylaws of the Never Too Young may be adopted, amended or repealed only by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.  Recommendations for amendments in the Bylaws may be initiated by the Never Too Young Taskforce.
I attest that everything I have shared in this application is true. I understand that discovery of fraud in this application is grounds for immediate removal from the program. I also understand that, if selected, I will make a one-year commitment to raise funds and colorectal cancer awareness for the Alliance and will sign a release agreement.
